Rites of Spring

Spring is springing, the frogs are singing, and I’m looking forward to the Cruise to the Castle Car Show this May. It’s small, but that’s actually an advantage. And it’s close, another advantage.

I missed the Pow-Wow at Backer College this year I’m sad to say. I’ve enjoyed attending for years now, but occasionally I do miss them. In more ways than one… It just doesn’t seem like spring will ever come without some good drumming to help wake me up. But that’s ok, I only had to wait a few more weeks for the frogs to wake up and now I am waking up too. The Great Lakes Indian Culture Association (GLICA) doesn’t appear to have a web page but I found this, which you might find interesting.

Along with the Car Show I’m looking forward to the opening of the Owosso Farmers Market. Another rite or spring…

In the Meantime there’s so much to do, so much to do… So for my first post… This will just have to do.

  • That cruise to the castle is always a cool show!

Really nice to see a fellow Dem. online too!

Was thinking I was the only one! ;o)

  • No, you’re not the only one… and we’re not the only two…

However… at a recent SCDP meeting a newcomer happened to say, “All my neighbors are Republican.” The scattered response throughout the crowd was “Yeah, same here.” And, “Me too.”

Then we all laughed because, what the heck… ya gotta love a challenge. ;)

  • I have neighbors who are Democrats! They live on the corner of our road. Last October they had at least twice as many campaign signs up as I did ... one for each candidate facing each road.

Driving by that place was like a spiritual experience for me .... I almost stopped to give them money.
